Please help with a Match issue. I have two ranges I need to search for a match then pull data associated with the matched location.

Here's a simple example of column setup:

A- Name
B- City
C- Score
D- Name
E- City
F- Score

I need to look down column A and D to find Name and pull Score. Then copy formula down many rows.

This is a sample, the real worksheet is very elaborate and the reason I can't run everything down A,B,and C.

Thank You!

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
This should work.. Adjust the ranges as per your suitability.

Assuming that the name you want to lookup is in A10 as shown in your sample..

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A10,A2:C7,3,0),VLOOKUP(A10,D2:F7,3,0))

In E2 control+shift+enter, not just enter, and copy down:

=IFERROR(INDEX($F$2:$F$1000,MATCH($A2,IF($E$2:E$1000=$B2,$D$2:$D$1000),0)),"not available")
