find furthest cell with number in it.

the spread sheet has many columns with data in them.
some are 4 rows, and some are around 900 or so rows.
they all start at row 8 so i have that
there is a column with column names , like BB, BV etc.
what i need is the second column formulae to go to the column names column and determine the last row of that column.
i still use 2003 version, xls files
how do i do this?
