hi guys
I wonder if anyone has come up with a non-VBA solution to find and identify text in cells that are e.g. in BOLD or Italic font?

A1 = THIS IS A test of the content
A2 = 19 (i.e. it starts at the 19th character for Italic)
A3 = 6 (i.e. it starts at the 6th character for BOLD)

doable?
VBA is out as I can not use it at my place of work!

thank you

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
I am pretty sure that Excel formulas can only work on values, not formatting.
So I afraid that without VBA, you are going to be out of luck.
