Background: When you press Ctrl-F, the "Find and Replace" window appears and immediately selects the "Find what:" text box. Let's say we are searching for "Dog" and there are three cells with "Dog" in the worksheet (all three cells are exactly "Dog"). When you press the Enter/Return key or Alt+F to issue the "Find Next" command, it takes you to the first instance of "Dog," but the Find and Replace window is still selected. Consequently, if you press the Enter/Return key or Alt+F, it will issue the "Find Next" command again and take you to the second instance, third instance, and finally, cycle back to the first instance. This is the normal behavior most people are used to, including me.
Problem: Recently, when I press Enter/Return or Alt+F to "Find Next," it will find the first instance, deselect the "Find and Replace" window, and select the worksheet. Consequently, when I press Enter/Return afterwards, it will go down one cell (normal behavior if you press Enter/Return in a cell). When I press Alt+F, it will select the File tab (once again, normal behavior if the worksheet is selected). If I want to reselect the Find and Replace window, I have to press Ctrl+F again. Anytime I try and use my keyboard to continually "Find Next," Excel deselects the window unlike normal behavior.
Any help would be much appreciated!
