Every day I'm sent a stock commentary file in outlook which I have to copy to word, format the paragraphs to Ariel 10, the bullets to Symbol 10, remove the hyperlinks (and parentheses surrounding them), and replace all stock tickers with the names of the companies. This is by far the most manual task I have to do on a daily basis and would like to try to automate it. Anyone have any ideas on how to automate this? Would it be possible (and do you know a location) where I could connect online to have a table that could return the company names? Possibly I could download stock tickers every morning to an excel spreadsheet and then the word document could read from there? I'm not really sure where to start with this one. Also, I probably need to funcitonality to ask if I want to replace the accronym for the stock ticker as sometimes the file uses acronyms other than stock tickers. I probably can't make this completely automatic, but at least a text box scrolling through the data asking me if I want to replace the ticker and giving me the option of the company name would save me a great deal of time. Thanks in advance for any advice on this one!
