Hi All

I am using this format 1.1.1 and I want to change it to 1-1-1.

I figured this would be easy to do with find and replace. I am using the latest version of Excel for Mac.

The problem is that when I type in the dash (-) to replace the (.), Excel takes it upon itself to use slash (/) instead and formats the cells to a date.

I have many hours of editing if I can't get it to work.

Thank you!

Russ

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
maybe try =SUBSTITUTE(A1,".","-") then copy result into the source cell and delete cell with formula

Nice workaround. Should only take a few minutes.
Thank you very much Sandy!
