Fin Statement e-book - problem opening workbook

I have Excel97 on a W98 system. Having just purchased the Financial Statements e-book, I'm having a problem trying to open the workbook that came as part of the zipped product file. Specifically, when opening the Financial Statement workbook, first Book1 opens, then I'm asked whether I want to allow macros - whether I say "yes" or "no", I get a Microsoft Visual basic error message: "file format no longer supported". Help!
