if column 1 has the names
column 2 has the departments (either a or b)
remaining column has the hours worked weekly

how do you identify those with multiple entries (i.e worked in the 2 departments for a total number of hours overall in a week) ?

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Thank you.
Is there a faster way, as there would be multiple "criteria" because there are many names in column 1 with multiple entries. data set is large
