filter is only Null vs not null

HI,
I was wondering if there is a problem with using a linked table and a filter by form. I used to get a list of unique entries when I used a regular table, but now that I have a linked table I only get "Null vs Not Null". Is there a way to get the full list of records by cahnging a setting on the form?
