filter date - 5th day of of the month

Hi
I just watched a video about excel filter. It says that to find the 5th day of the month (any month) in a date column, just go to filter and in the search box type 05.

I did that, and yes I can see all the date which has for example 05/11/2016, 05/01/2011, 05/04/2001
but that search will also give me the following date too 09/07/2005!

How can I search for the 5th day of any month but do not see date like 11/10/2005 etc

Hi lezawang,

In your column header, when you click on "Filter" button you will initially see "Search (All)" option. However, there is a small drop-down button next to this search bar which allows you to switch between (All), Year, Month and Date options. Simply switch to Date (the search bar will now show "Search Date"), type in "05", and click on "OK".
