Filter and Define names

Hi Everyone, First I should say I am really new and green to any type of programming etc, I have been playing around a bit and I do have “Excel VB and Macros with MrExcel” for Excel 2007 and a couple of vba books but that is about the level of my knowledge. I go to the gym three times a week, and I record all my stats, (distance travelled, Calories burnt, Watts and so on) I have a big spreadsheet which I enter all the info into for each machine used, (Hand cycle, upright cycle, rowing machine and so on) I started this in October 2015 so now I have quite a large amount of data. I now want to produce monthly tables showing all the data listed above for each month, but I only have the date for the first machine, and I need to filter each machine by date to get the month I want. So I have recorded a macro which selects the date column from in front of the first machine and also selects the data for each machine in turn and copies it to a blank sheet where I run a filter to get the month I want and then that data gets copied to another sheet where I have formulas which produce the reports I want, and it works fine, or at least almost fine. The two areas I am struggling with are, when it runs the filters, I would like it to stop and get me to select the dates or other filter criteria I want and then carry on, as at the moment the only way I can change the filter date, is to run a find for the last date I searched for in the macro and then replace it with the next date I want to search and so, if I could get it to pause and let me select the next date as I say that would be helpful. The second problem is in the top left hand cell (a1) I have the date formatted with “MMM-YYYY” ideally I would like to be able to get the vba to copy this date and then select the whole months report and use the copied date to define a name for that report, so it would copy say Feb- 2018 and select that months information and define the name Feb_2018. The reason I have put these two topics together is, I have been pulling my hair out trying everything I can and looking in the Object browser, I have found a “xlDialogDefineName” and a “xlDialogFilter” and I wondered if I can’t get the date to copy and paste in as the name would the “xlDialogDefineName” bring up a box for me to type the name in and also would the “xlDialogFilter” bring up a way of me selecting the next month etc? However I have no idea how to use or get these “xlDialog”s into my code. I would be really grateful for any help you can give me, Thank you for taking the time to read this long post. Trikeman
