I've been trying to figure out how to do the following in Word:

How do you make a fillable box, for instance---I want to have an area in a document that is shaded and says something like "type here" or "enter info here" and when a person does, their info will be in the box and not "type here" or "enter info here" and when printed the shaded area will not come up.

Suggestions? Does this question make sense?

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
You can use the Forms Toolbar to isert a TextFormField, then insert your default text using the Properties part, but I'm not sure how to hide the default text if nothing is entered, although you can hide the shading using Options.

The closest thing you can do is a Macro Button.

For example, if display field codes are on, you'd get this:

{ MACROBUTTON ThereIsNoMacro [Type your Last Name here] }

When display field codes are off, you'd get: [Type your Last Name here]

Unfortunately, that will print if they haven't clicked on the "field" and typed over it.
