Hi All,
Another question....

I have a massive set of numbers on one sheet. They go from B1:G63489. Now most of these cells have some kind of number in them (they are hard coded in) but there are about a hundred cells or so that are completely empty. I would like to fill these empty cells with "N/A."
Is there a quick formula i can write for this and which cell would the formula be written in?

Thanks, always, in advance :)

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Might I ask why you want "N/A" in these cells? Doing so can drastically increase the filesize if there are a lot of blank cells, thus slowing down your worksheet. Also, depending what you are doing with B1:G63489, it could bring up either formula errors or the need for array-entered formulas.

Well I was told that we can't leave any cells blank. Therefore fill it with "N/A"
I realize this makes the file size huge but thats what the boss wants =/

Is there a quick way to do this?

Yep, there is a quick, easy way:

  1. Highlight the range you want to fill the empty cells
  2. Edit>Go To
  3. Click on Special
  4. Tick the radio button for Blanks and click OK
  5. Type N/A and then press CTRL+ENTER, not just enter.
