Hello All,

Need help in filling in blank cells with Specific Dates. If you see below on the upright there is a data basically telling me what is the data for the grouping. in the Date column currently, i'm using manual input. Is there a way to just put the data in the Data column based on the new data grouping. help is greatly appreciated.

For Example:

Product Line Month Date 1/1/2017
Car 1 Jan 2017 1/1/2017
Car 1 Jan 2017 1/1/2017
Car 1 Jan 2017 1/1/2017
Car 1 Jan 2017 1/1/2017
Car 1 Jan 2017 1/1/2017
Car 1 Jan 2017 1/1/2017
1/2/2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
1/3/2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017
Car 1 Jan 2017

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
Before you add the extra column - check if you really need to add another column. the column that appears as "Jan 2017" could already be a date . Select any of the "Han 2017" cells . what value appears in the FORMULA BAR

if the formula bar displays 1/1/2017 then the cell already contains a date and it's just been formatted to display Month-and-year only. Then all you would need to do is to reformat the column to display the date in the usual 1/1/2017 format.

(or if you still want a column formatted as Jan 2017 make the formula in the new column . starting at c2 formula =b2 and format column C)
