Fill Between Series in XY chart

folks, quick question, I hope. In Peltier's example for this graphing technique, Fill Under or Between Series in an Excel XY Chart - Peltier Tech Blog, he has in Column B a series of values used, I think, to space out the data points. Column C is then the actual data values (Bottom Line) and Column D the second series (Top Line) for graphing

Bottom Line Top Line
B5 = 1 C5 = 1 D5 = 4
B6 = 3 C6 = 5 D6 = 6
B7 = 3.5 C7 = 3 D7 = 4
B8 = 5.5 C8 = 5 D8 = 6
B9 = 7 C9 = 4 D9 = 6

Sorry for the layout visual above: I am unable to load excel Jeanie in this environment. How are the values of Column B determined?

Column B has the X values in the original data, and column C has the Y values.

Thanks for responding Jon. I very much enjoy your work. Hope you had a great time recently in Sydney. Just remember, those folks south of the border are not really representative of the whole of Australia.

I am working with a largish data set showing working capital requirements (Bottom Line) against funds available (Top Line) on a daily basis. The idea is to shade the funding shortfall which should be the area between the two lines.

I think I have it now. Originally, I was having trouble getting the fill to sit where it should between the two lines.
