File size shrank suddenly?

I've been periodically saving my database in a separate folder, and I just noticed my database file is now down to about 5kb, down from about 60 MB. What could have happenned?

I did not split anything or compact anything, they are both identical as far as I can see.

What's in your database? Is it reasonable to think it will fit into 5Kb (or conversely, that it would actually be 60 Mb of data?). Basically, the most likely explanation is that it was compacted. Otherwise, you'd surely be missing tons of data.
