Working on a file & now it shows locked for editing when i try to open it.

Odd as ive been doing the file editing for a couple hours now.
I'm sure i haven't done it but how do i managed to fix it as when i try to save it wants to save a copy & haven't had that all morning.

Are you sure that the previous session with this file has ended? Maybe you are now trying to open the file in a new instance of Excel when the previous one was not closed.
Are you opening the file from a shared drive on the local network, or from your hard drive?

I have copied the files & others to dropbox.
I then downloaded to the new pc.

This morning i have been making some edits BUT saving along the way.

Even when ive popped out ive saved the file & reopened it upon my return.
When the file is open i dont even see anywhere where it shows its read only.
