I created a data model on a computer that has Excel 2013 installed. I am now using a computer with Excel 2010. I get the following error when trying to open the Power Pivot window:

This workbook contains an Excel data model that is created in a newer version of Excel. You can open this workbook in an older version of Excel, but you will be unable to load or work with Power Pivot, when it coexists with an Excel data model.

I believe I have the following options:

  1. Install Excel 2013 on this computer.
  2. Only work on the file using a computer with Excel 2013.
  3. Using Excel 2013, remove the data model. Using Excel 2010, recreate the data model.

Not an option:

  1. Removing the data model using Excel 2010.

Any comments or ideas?

Thank,

G/L

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Just fyi, don't go thinking "If it was 2010... both could use it". That isn't true... the 2013 will require an upgrade to 2013 and you will be back where you started.
