Morning,

If I amend a field format in the source Excel document, will Power BI be able to refresh the data without errors?

Basically I've got a data download from another system and the financial values were stored as text and I need to change them to decimal for a SUM but query editor can't do it so I was going to amend the data source.

Thanks,

Chris

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Powerquery can and regularly does convert numbers stored as text to number. I created a short list of numbers formatted as text, '345 for example, and on import to PQ it automatically converted it to a number?

I think computers know how much we know - if we know only a little they play with our minds (and generally mess up)!! (or am I getting paranoid :))

Glad its working.
