When I try to import data from an excel file into a table, it returns this error:

Field 'F1' doesn't exist in destination table 'arc_entries_ENG.'

There are 9 fields in that table though, and both are set up to be a number.
What could be causing this error?

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
How are you doing the import?

When you say you are trying to import from Excel are you importing into an existing table?

If the destination table doesn't have a field called F1 then that is probably why you're getting that error.

Does the Excel sheet you are trying to import have the same headings (field names) as the table you're importing to?

It could be that the sheet you are trying to import isn't quite matching the design of the table you are trying to import it into.

Try importing the offending sheet into a new table and see what you end up with.

I don't really think it is a type mismatch problem, which you seem to be indicating.

Lots of questions I know but if you could answer some of them I'm sure we can help.

the file is being imported from a .csv file into an empty table. The file being imported does not have any labels for the columns, it jumps straight into the data. I cannot see any way that there is a type mismatch which is what makes this confusing. I will try importing it into a new table though

If you have no headings in the CSV file then Access will probably just create them as F1, F2 etc
