formulas fail to sum correctly. I have googled and checked all suggestions found to no avail. I suspect it is due to a mix of text vs. numbers within formulas that create the numbers to be summed.

here is one of the formulas: =IF(AND($B63="u",$C63="w"),IF(V63="rns",1.25,IF(V63="c",0,0)),"")

the results of this and similar formulas are then summed on a different sheet.... incorrectly. (discovered when i selected the range summed and got a different sum in the bottom bar)

on review here i realize that this section ... $C63="w" ... isn't needed but that still leaves a text/number mix.

so if i edit that out i'm still left with =If($B63="u",IF(V63="rns",1.25,IF(V63="c",0,0)),"")

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Hello handysmurf,

Those formulas look OK to me, as long as you don't return the numbers in quotes (which makes them into text) then you should be OK.

What is the formula used to get the total?
