Extracting a number from a alphanumeric text

trying to take the middle three numbers out of the following into its own cell. I was able to figure out the left and right but the middle is tricky.

Try this:

=TRIM(MID(SUBSTITUTE(A1," ",REPT(" ",99)),100,99))

Welcome to the MrExcel board!

The second example isn't clear whether you want "MG3" extracted (red text) or just "3" (thread title is "extracting a number ..")

Also, your only 2 examples are identical in layout. If that is the case and it is the red text you want extracted, then this should do it.
