extract word from string but the word has a variety of endings

The word I am trying to extract from Mid string is one of 7 :
"class1"
or "class2"
or "class3"
… up to "class 7"

any help much appreciated

Use a wild card, so search for "Class*"

Hi,

If you're actually using the FIND or SEARCH function (FIND is case sensitive while SEARCH is Not) in your extraction formula, you wouldn't need any wildcard(s), just "Class" will do.

Perhaps if you show a few samples of your data, with all possible scenarios, we can assist further.
