Hi there

What is function to extract data between brackets?

eg extract dogs from some_text_[dogs]_more text

Hi.

So there's only ever one occurrence of both a "[" and a "]" in the string? If so:

=MID(A1,FIND("[",A1)+1,MMULT(FIND({"[","]"},A1),{-1;1})-1)

Hi, thanks for your reply, that looks like an Excel formula, not Access? (i did try using my field names, just in case, but couldn't get it to work)...do you know Access version for this formula?
