Hi,

I had a performance question related to Access. If I have a table that was imported into Access & I run queries with this table, is there a performance difference if the same table is an externally linked .csv file?

I ask because in access 2003 if the columns >256? you can externally link.

Thanks

Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
There should be a difference, in my opinion. But you have to test if you want to be sure.
Local queries on real access tables should include the benefits of strong data types, primary and foreign keys, and (crucially) indexing of commonly searched fields.
