External Data Connection Not Connecting

I have an Excel file that uses an external data connection to a data file to bring that data into my summary file. When I refresh the data, sometimes it works quickly and other times slowly, and sometimes, like now, keeps spinning and says "Loading Data."

Any thoughts?

Is this refresh through Power Query? What kind of data connection are you using; a source local to your machine, odbc, website, etc?

Yes, the refresh is thru Power Query and it's a website link because both files are on a SharePoint site.
