Hi All,

I need to insert barcodes into an existing excel macro, however this issue I have is the company I work for won't put any excel barcode softare on the PC's for us to use.

Is there a way I can somehow link it to an external free barcode website e.g. Barcode-generator.org or barcodemill.com and have it automatically bring the barcode accross??

or if there is anyother way to do it I would be very greatful for your help.

Thanks in advance,

Gav

What you can do really depends on what barcoding system you're using. A 3of9 barcode, for example, doesn't require and software - just a 3of9 barcode font. A code 128 barcode, however, requires software (which could be just a couple of macros), to both encode and decode the barcoded data, plus a code 128 barcode font.

Hi Macropod,

Thanks for your reply.

I had a look at the idautomation website before posting here and it looks like I will need to download something for the code 128 to work.

I work for a major retailer and they have very tight security on their PC's so I can't even download a font pack, plus this will need to be used on multiple PC's so it really just needs to run without any installing other items.

I know I am probably going to hit a dead-end with this one but I need to try. :)

Thanks
