I have just started programming macros and using an expression builder. I have a form where a users will be entering a currency figure per quarter. So i want to add code to the "on leave" event for that textbox so that a currency figure per month is displayed in a label, which would be the amount per quarter divided by 3.

So where do I add the code? and what is the code?

Thanks for all of the help

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Assuming that your textboxes are [Qtr_Pay] and [Month_Pay], do this:
Design view, Properties for [Qtr_Pay], select Events tab.
Double-click the blank line of the After Update event. You'll see [Event Procedure] in the line.
Click the builder (...) button at the end of the line. Now you're in the code window.
Enter this code:
[Month_Pay]=[Qtr_Pay]/3

Save, go to Data view, and check it out. Change field names to suit.
In general, if you want a value to automaticallay update based on a value in Control A, you use the After Update event of Control A. If you want to do some housekeeping or write values to severl controls before going to another record, use the Before Update property of the form.

Hope this helps.
