I am definitely a "newbie" when it comes to Access, so the question may seem lame to some. I am attempting to export a query to Excel. I have decided to create a macro using the OutputTo function. Everything works, but I was wondering if the data collected from the query could go to a specific spreadsheet in Excel and within a certain field of cells vice creating a whole new book. My programming is limited, so please be kind in your response.

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Try the transfer spreadsheet action

From MSAccess Help: You can use the TransferSpreadsheet action to import or export data between the current Microsoft Access database and a spreadsheet file. You can also link the data in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to the current Microsoft Access database. With a linked spreadsheet, you can view and edit the spreadsheet data with Microsoft Access while still allowing complete access to the data from your Microsoft Excel spreadsheet program. You can also link to data in a Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet file, but this data is read-only in Microsoft Access.
