Exporting data rows from HeidiSQL to Excel 365 results in pasting 'marching ants' from previous ctrl-C

Hello friends,
Please forgive me if this has been solved already. I do a lot of data swapping back and forth between Excel and HeidiSQL. My problem is when I go to copy an excel-generated query statement into HeidiSQL using Ctrl-C (gives me the marching ants) when I run the query and then attempt to export the data out of Heidi back into excel by hitting paste, I get the contents of the 'marching ants' rather than the data from Heidi. Is there any remedy for this? I do this procedure dozens of times per day, and having to remember to hit escape each time before exporting from Heidi is getting very annoying.
Thanks for any help!
Biff

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
Odd. I find that when I do another Ctrl-C, even in another window (say notepad), it causes the 'marching ants' in Excel to disappear. Then again, personally I don't find hitting ESC after Ctrl-C to be a big deal.
