Excel2016: Formula won't autofill correctly(Relative/Absolute)

I need help with a problem that seems like no one else has a solution to. My company uses Excel 2016 and as a result, when i imported an excel sheet from my home desktop to my work one, it lost its functionality. I don't know why.

Since I already had the formulas ready, I figured I'd plug in the first three and use the autofill function to fill in the rest.

=Sheet_1!A$1
=Sheet_1!B$1
=Sheet_1!C$1

When I try to drag it down to continue the pattern, it just repeats those three like this:
=Sheet_1!A$1
=Sheet_1!B$1
=Sheet_1!C$1
=Sheet_1!A$1
=Sheet_1!B$1
=Sheet_1!C$1

Try dragging to the right instead of down.

Try this formula in a single cell and drag it down. Where I have A1 in this formula, make that the address of whatever cell this first formula is actually in.

=INDEX(Sheet1!$1:$1,ROWS(A$1:A1))
