We have 2007 and I'm reluctant to have it installed because it looks radically different, and I don't know if I have the time to fart around with it.

does anyone out there have an opinion on the subject.

be kind............... some of here were not :-)

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
I use 2003 at work and 2007 at home... they are all same to me... yeah the user interface is different but it won't take long to figure it out... I figured out the controls wihtin less than an hour...

I think I pretty much agree. I have used both and I think the pros pretty much outweigh the cons. However, I am one of those guys that's always looking for more power :) However, if you don't find yourself being limited by 2003 you might give the rest of the world some time to catch up before you start using all that power.

I would suggest sticking with 2003 until MS works out some of the reported issues with performance. Especially when charting, Excel 2007 is infamous for bogging down, taking minutes for tasks that 2003 finishes in a second or two.

Maybe the million rows are nice, but now some people won't be happy until there's a million columns, too.
