How do I ignore text (AB)using the formula
=IF(D12>=E12,D12+F12+H12+G12,E12+F12+H12+G12)

Do you just want it so that you don't get an error if one of those cells has text in it instead of a number? If so, try

=SUM(MAX(D12,E12),F12,H12,G12)

Small point, but why not just use the range...

=SUM(MAX(D12,E12),F12:H12)
