Excel wrong comparison after numbers extraction with if(right(

What I am doing wrong here? does value 0814 greater than 2000? I need result {z} in cell B1.
all cells are with general formatting

=IF(RIGHT(A1,4)>2000,"x")

result in B1

=IF(VALUE(RIGHT(A1,4))>2000,"x","z")

Try

=IF(RIGHT(A1,4)+0>2000,"x")
