I wish Microsoft wouldn't use Excel as the "default" program to open CSV files!
A CSV file is a text file, not an Excel file! And when you open it in Excel, Excel may perform some conversions on it and change the view of the data (as it tries to "guess" what might be date and numeric fields).
It should set NotePad as the default program to open CSV files. Then you will see the contents of the file exactly as they appear.
