Hello,

I am a student preparing for job interviews in the Spring. I will be applying for a job in the management consulting field.

I have checked with my university, but they do not have anything more than a basic MS office tutorial covering beginners excel.

I would like to learn how to create and use Pivot tables, as well as other intermediate & advanced excel functionality.

Can anyone please refer me to any online tutorials, books, print books, etc. that I can use.

I am a broke student in debt, so please be kind to share resources that are complimentary.

Thanks,
Rajesh

Without sounding like a commercial, and I have no relations with Bill Jelen, Mr. Excel has an amazing offering of books. I would look at Guerilla Data Analysis (SKU 3) and Pivot Table Data Crunching (SKU 118)

Another Excel resourse (just to prove I am not a Mr. Excel plant) is
A. Learn Excel 2007 Expert Skills with the Smart Method, by Mike Smart, The Smart Method Ltd, First Edition, 2009.

It is available through Amazon.

Thanks for the replies so far. I will look through these. I do not think I need to code macro, but definitely need to learn the business tools, e.g. pivot tables.

Is there any online text/multimedia/workbook that covers Pivot tables in detail?

I need to start with that asap and may not have time to procure a hard copy book.

Please keep the suggestions coming.

Thanks,
Rajesh

And there's no better way to learn than to do, so if you're serious about it I'd recommend trying to answer some of the questions here...most of the high-volume posters here started out by asking questions, then got hooked...
