Hi,

I have to save excel files to txt tab delimited for importing in SAP B1.

Is it possible to run a macro to check if the files are 100% "tab delimeted proof" and update those files to tab delimeted ready if not

If I'm right this is no longer than 60 characters long and no special signs ex "=" etc .

Thanks in advance for your help

Kind regards

Al

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
I know what tab delimited means, but what does "tab delimeted proof" mean ? I did a Google search and didn't get much on this.

As far as I know, there is nothing about Excel's functionality for creating TXT tab delimited files which limits fields to 60 characters, or prohibits special characters such as "=".

I tried creating a TXT tab delimited file including = and other characters, and using field lengths much longer than 60 characters, and it seemed to work fine.

If your particular application has some stringent standards such as 60 character limits, I suggest you find out / define exactly what these are.
It may well be possible to set something up in Excel which converts non-compliant data into a compliant format.

Thanks for your reply. I'm wrong I think the 60 characters and the special signs problem is due to SAP B1 and not tab delimited txt
Kind regards
