I have a PowerPoint where the background is blue (I cannot change). In order to make the information stand out, I have the excel information in white - however, I can't see if unless I color the excel background.

How do I keep the excel font white so that it shows in the PPT?
is there a way, when I paste the link to edit the background to be transparent?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
You could use the PowerPoint event code below; run the initialise routine to enable it and the release code to stop it.
Clicking anything on the active slide (when editing, not during a slide show) will change font colour for all shape text on that slide. Therefore, you can use black text within Excel.
This code can be tweaked in various ways and there are many other events available as well.
If the background is an editable shape, it can have its transparency changed, manually or by code.

Code:
' standard module
Public objNewSlide As New Class2

Sub Initialise()
Set objNewSlide.PPTEvent = Application
End Sub

Sub Release()
Set objNewSlide.PPTEvent = Nothing
End Sub

*********************************************

' class module named Class2

Public WithEvents PPTEvent As Application

Private Sub PPTEvent_WindowSelectionChange(ByVal Sel As Selection)
Dim s As Slide, i%, t As TextRange
Set s = Application.ActiveWindow.View.Slide
On Error Resume Next
For i = 1 To s.Shapes.Count
    Set t = s.Shapes(i).TextFrame.TextRange
    t.Font.Color.RGB = RGB(250, 250, 250)
Next
End Sub
