Excel to PDF format

Apologies as this seems really minor but I cant seem to find a workaround.

Prepare a quarterly report and all neat and tidy in excel re light grey borders around some cells.
When I save into PDF these borders turn into thick lines and it looks really unprofessional.
Also - showing slicers format example on a PDF document turns soft rounded lines to thick rectangle lines.

Does anyone know of a workaround or are there settings that I am missing.
