Hi All

I have a table set up where within this I have I am looking to multiply the amount of hours by rates in £.

Example Table is from A to R. However looking for the table in R to multiply 2 columns.

Colum G has the amount of hours and column O has the amount in £.

I have tried the SUM formula which works on a normal workbook but on the table instead of it resulting in £30 say for 2 hours x £15 it comes in with £1.25

Column G format is customer HH:MM and Col O is currency £.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
That is because time is stored in Excel as a fraction, specifically the fractional piece of one day.
So, 2 hours would be equal to 2/24, since there are 24 hours in a day.
So if you want to say it is an hourly rate, multiply your result by 24 to get your desired result, i.e.
Excel Formula:
24 * 1.25 = 60
which is the result you desire (30 *2 = 60)

So your formula would look something like:
Excel Formula:
=G2 * O2 * 24
