I enter the number 45 into cell A1.

A2 formula: A1+1 (Returns "46")
A3 formula: A2+1 (Returns "47")
A4 formula: A3+1 (Returns "48")

I have this sequence for about 200 rows. I understand that you are able to just drag down to continue the sequence of consecutive numbers although this is in place to assist an inexperienced user and it works well.

Although recently making any adjustments in the A column will cause excel to become unresponsive for a period of time. Is it the PC's fault or is their an underlying problem with the formula which causes lots of calculations to take place. Thanks for any help :)

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
I have now realised if there is text in A1, all of the below cells read "#VALUE". It is then when I insert a number into one of these cells I get the not responding error rather than a quick calculation of "+1" of the number I entered.
