Excel Spreadsheet - PGA Fedex Cup tracking

Hello - I've been asked to create an excel spreadsheet to track our local 'FEDEX' Cup like competition. Our local club "Cup" is a season long points race that mirrors the FedEx Cup on the PGA TOUR! Throughout the season, players will accrue points based on participation and how they place in both net and gross categories in Club-run tournaments throughout the year. If a player finishes in the top in both Net and Gross categories in a tournament, they will be given point value that is the highest, not both. Tournaments that have multiple divisions will have their own point distribution in each division. If there is a tie, points will be averaged and evenly distributed to the tied teams. The top sixteen men and top eight women will compete in a special season ending tournament held the weekend after our Closing Day Tournament. There will be an overall ladies champion and an overall men’s champion. After the grand finale tournament, we will crown our Cedar Point Cup Champions! The current standings will be available on the Club website under the Tournament Results tab. Member Guest/Member Member points for 50% of flight. There needs to be a male and female tracking sheet.

I'm praying there's a worksheet out there that all I have to put in is individual names, event names, whether a person participated and/or placed. Does anyone have any thoughts on this ? I have limited Excel skills, but know my way around a bit and am a quick study.

Mike, I hope I'm wrong but I very much doubt that your prayers will be answered.
The likelihood is that you will need to be creating something from scratch. Which is unlikely to be a quick and simple process.
How might you go about it will depend upon a variety of considerations.
Sounds like there are a good number of qualifying events of several different types with varying points structure.
I think how you gather / store the data will be key.
Potentially a lot of manual data entry if all participants need to be logged.
I assume that you have an existing scoring system that will be used regardless?
If so, does it have the facility for you to export the result in a form that can be imported to Excel?
Then on some basis or other, separate columns on same sheet per event or even separate sheets per event you could have the appropriate Excel logic to apportion points for that event.
And so on..
Analysing and summarising the data should be easy enough.
I think I would be trying to establish a viable way of data capture / input for a simple event or two and take it from there.
Additional events of varying types can then be added progressively.
