When I start Excel (2023), the little splash screen shows some messages, including one that seems to be generated by my saving a backup copy, and another that indicates the formulae are being recalculated.
My Startup does a lot of other processes, such as sorting sheets and calculating totals.

Is there a way to force a message into the splash to indicate that these are being done (WITHOUT creating my own splash screen)?

Hello @hicksi

My simple suggestion is that you will make your own splash screen telling what is happening.
It is good practice to keep the user informed as to the progress of the code.
When I make my own splash screens I will have a designated range lets say E13:G25 and in Column E I will say what is happening example "Making Backup copy" in Column F I will indicate when done by displaying "Done!" and in Column G I add a time stamp so that I can keep track of anomalies, or slowness issues.
