I need a formula to calculate speed in kmph, given meters and seconds, for example i want to calculate the speed of a person who runs 100 meters in 12 seconds, the formula =A2/(D2*24) does not calculate it right, Thank you in advance.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
I think you change the seconds into hours then divide by 1000 for kph
=A2/((B2/(60)/60))/1000
The bolt ran in 9.58 seconds = 37.58kph

Maths lesson first

100 metres in 12 seconds
= 100m/12seconds metres per second
convert to Km per second
= (100m/1000m)/12seconds km per second
convert to km per hour (there are 60 X 60 seconds in 1 hour)
= (100m/1000m) X (3600seconds/12 seconds) km per hour

So your formula to convert is
= (distance in metres /1000) X (3600/time in seconds)

=(A2/1000)*(3600/B2)

which is the same as @davesexcel
