I have a sheet listing specifications for about 250 ingredients with headers for ingredient name, Supplier, risk levle , etc plus a few formulas. If I want to insert a new column Excel gives me a warning that the operation is going to take a long time. Why is this happening. If I copt the same sheet into another tab to create a different view the same thing happens.

Why is this happening?

Thanks for your time.

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
I think we need a bit more information before we hazard a guess as to why this is happening.
We really need to understand your configuration.

How many rows/columns of data do you have?
Do you have a ton of formulas?
Have you extended the formulas out past the end of your data?
What kind of formulas are you using?
Do they reference other worksheets or workbooks?
