New in Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Right-click any object and choose Save As Picture. This feature seems so natural, it is hard to believe it has not been there for decades. Same SmartArt as a picture. Save a chart as a picture. Save Cutout Randy as a picture. Also in this episode, using a Linked Picture to be able to save part of the grid as a picture.

Save as Picture, Hey welcome back to the MrExcel netcast.
I am Bill Jelen.
This feature might be brand new in Office Insider. They've added something called Save as Picture.
It is new to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The request was for Charts, but they also made it work for SmartArt and Shapes. Basically any object.
Here is a chart. I am going to select the chart.
Right-click on the chart.
Then down here is Save as Picture. I will call it ChartTest.png.
It saves as a png file. It also works with shapes.
Here is a shape that I inserted. I added some text. I changed the inflection point.
Right-click. Save as picture.
Or here is some SmartArt. Right-click. Save as Picture. Yes. Great.
Here is one of those new cutout people. They are found in Insert, Icons.
But I am not just going to accept Randy here in his default state.
I am going to Picture Format, choose Color, and recolor him in orange.
Right-click. Save as picture. Save as RandyOrange.png.
Now the one thing that you can't do that would be really cool to be able to do. Take some data in Excel and save that as a picture.
But here is the little workaround. I am going to Ctrl+C to Copy.
And then come over here. On the Home tab go to Paste.
And the very last option is Paste as a Linked Picture.
Then that object, if I right-click, I can then save this picture.
And get a picture of the grid. So a nice little feature.
Oh! Here's one more. Here is six copies of Addison. Six different colors.
Control+click to select each one. Right-click. Save as picture.
And sure enough twelve thumbs up.
Alright Addison! Well, hey, we are working towards a better merchandise shelf.
If you could click subscribe. I am trying to get to 100,000 subscribers.
So I can offer some better quality t-shirts.
