No matter what I seem to do I cannot get the Excel Ribbon to expand. I gave tried shortcut keys, alt keys. The triangle on the top right. There is no ellipsie to show all. I went to file hoping to go to options but there is no options. I tried right clicking on tabs and right clicking on the ribbon that is there and it still wont expand. I definately need an expert. If you know tge answer please help.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Not sure what you're asking for. If your ribbon is collapsed, all you need to do is right click beside one of the tab labels (in this pic, just beside Help) and choose from the menu to expand (not collapse).

Is the "Collapse the ribbon automatically" box checked under Gerneral tab of the Options menu?

Unfortunately, neither of those help because they are not pictures of the Excel application.

I enlarged one image and I believe they both are Excel ( I can see that the filename is xls based), but one looks like a really old version that resembles commandbars and menus. I know that if an Access file contains legacy commandbars, they are relegated to the QAT and are available there. Perhaps the same is true for Excel. What I don't know is what the effect is if you have legacy commandbars and hide the ribbon. That may be what is going on here. I think I would copy the file and play with the ribbon options in settings (e.g. looking to ensure the ribbon is not hidden). Or I'd look to see if there is any xml being loaded that replaces the ribbon with something else.

The 1st image looks like Google Sheets, not Excel & Sheets just has a tool bar, rather than a Ribbon.
