Is there a way to refresh to document while open to see other users' edits?

Because I need to close and reopen the document to see the edits made by other users

Google drive/Docs or a database, maybe Access. Excel shared workbooks have a huge amount issues associated with them, instability and corruption being the major ones. If you must use Excel, then remember to back up your workbooks very frequently
