Excel Pivot tables, value filter, extracting data

I have a simple pivot table that summarizes the number of times someone took a class. The table consists of the name and a count of classes. I want to extract the names of all the people who took three classes. I ran a value filter that said class = 3. When I click the Grand total number, rather than getting a list of only the people with three classes, I get the complete list. So in the below example, I want to click on the Grand Total 9 and extract nine rows. Instead, I get the entire list.

If I do a filter based on name (choose three names for example) and I double-click the grand total, I get an extracted list of just those names.

Is this a bug or is there a setting to make it extract the grand total for a value filter? I am still using Excel 2010 for Windows.

Name Count of Class
Shakespeare, William 3
O'Keefe, Georgia 3
Wordsworth, William 3
Grand Total 9
