Excel Performance Issues

Does anyone know if there are any improvements running Excel 2007 vs 2003? For example, if I have, say, 4mb Excel application running 2003 and have a 1mb memory on my machine, is there a difference running the same application converted to 2007? I know this is a very general question, but does the new version of Excel 2007 handle memory differently?
